Virus Protection App
The Virus Protection App enforces a formal anti-virus, anti-spyware program for community banks and credit unions to respond to the rapid increase in the variety and occurrence of computer viruses. The App closely manages controls of qualified malware defense systems that have been deployed to defend the financial institution's network, PCs, servers and gateways.

Here are the Virus Protection App features:
- Enforces frequent system updates against new virus/spyware strains.
- Provides for periodic technical assessments of the virus protection systems to ensure latest and greatest measures are in force.
- Tracks the performance and review of periodic virus scans of all storage media.
- Maintains anti-virus anti-spyware license subscriptions.
- Provides a facility for pre-approving system software installs to control virus proliferation.
- Manages periodic requirements such as security awareness training, employee attestation, DAT updates, and virus scanning.
- An audit is performed on virus protection procedures to ensure that they are properly enforced. All exceptions will be reported to the Information Security Officer.
